I. Searching  the Euromayday Online Archive

The Euromayday Online Archive can be searched by city/year, through a full text search engine and via the category tree on the left hand side of each page.
Full search functions are accessible on the search page which can be accessed by clicking the <search> button on the right hand side navigation bar of the start page.

Search by city / year

  • For information about a EuroMayDay Parade in a specific city, use the drop-down menue on the search page
  • For information about a EuroMayDay Parade in a specific year, click the appropriate year in the timeline on the search page. The search page can be accessed by clicking the <search> button on the right hand side navigation bar of the start page
Full text search
  • Full text search can be accessed from the startpage and the search page.
  • A full text search initiates a search in all text fields of each entry in the Euromayday Online Archive.
  • Identifyers like  <“keyword”> or wildcards <*> are not possible.
  • When indexing each entry, a number of keywords were used to facilitate full text searches. These keywords are marked by double slashes at the beginning and end:  <//keyword//> A list of keywords will be made available.
Search by category
  • The category tree can be found on the left hand side of each page.
  • To view the subcategories, click on the > arrow on the left hand hand site of each main category.
  • On the start page, you can search for all entries in one category or sub-category by clicking on it.
  • On the search page, you can combine several categories through AND and OR indicators by ticking the appropriate box on top of the category tree.
  • Due to technical restrictions and large quantities of data, the Euromayday Online Archive is slow. Be patient: after ticking one category, wait until the results have loaded before ticking another one.
Combined searches
  • All types of searches can be combined by adding them to each other - but wait until the results for each search have loaded before adding the next.
  • Example: Select a city, wait for the results to load. Then select a year, wait for the results to load again. Select a category, load again, type a word in the full text search box, load again and so on.
